Flight Instructor Certificate (Airplane Single Engine)
Requirements
- Must have a current commercial or airline transport pilot certificate.
- Must have an Instrument Rating.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language.
- Must receive an endorsement from an instructor certifying that the applicant is prepared to take the Fundamentals of Instruction (FOI) knowledge test.
- Must receive an endorsement from an instructor certifying that the applicant is prepared to take the knowledge test.
- Must receive an endorsement from an instructor certifying that the applicant is competent and possesses instructional competency in stalls, spins, and spin recovery.
- Must receive an endorsement from an instructor certifying that the applicant is prepared for the practical test.
- Must take and pass the required knowledge tests.
- Must pass a practical flight test with a Designated Flight Examiner.
Privileges & Limitations
- May give training and endorsements for Student Pilots, Pilot Certificates, Flight Instructor Certificates, Ground Instructor Certificates, Aircraft Ratings, Flight Reviews, Practical Tests, and Knowledge Tests.
- Limited to a maximum of 8 hours of flight instruction in a 24 hour period.
- Can instruct only in category and class for which certificated.
